Everyone Should Learn a Little about Law

While lawyers and judges are the ultimate legal experts, of course, I believe that every citizen should take the time to learn a little about law for several reasons. First, it is important to know your rights, and knowing them can come in handy if anyone ever accuses you of a crime you didn't commit or threatens you legally in another other way. Second, learning about your local, state, and federal laws can help you act as a better citizen. When election time comes around, you can then truly understand ever change in law being proposed by a candidate and whether it benefits society or not. I plan to share posts about law topics explained in plain English on my new blog, so you can come back often to sharpen your legal knowledge!

Tips For Consolidating Your Credit Card Debt

Kaylee Wells

Are you struggling currently with a lot of credit card debt? If so, you may be looking for ways to consolidate your debt and get things a bit more under control. Here are some tips that are going to help you do it.

Get Rid Of The Credit Card And Keep The Accounts

The first thing that you want to do is get rid of your credit cards! Cut the cards up, throw them away, and just get rid of them so that you are not tempted to use them anymore. You'll still want to keep the accounts open, but getting rid of the cards will remove all temptation that you have for using the credit cards again until you get your debt under control.

Find A New Card To Transfer Your Credit Card Debt To

There are a couple of ways that you can consolidate all of your credit card debts by putting them onto a new credit card. However, the key to doing this is to find a credit card that offers you a 0% introductory interest rate, no fees for transferring the balances of your old cards, and a lower interest rate. You don't care about the rewards that the card offers but the benefits that will help you transfer a balance.

While it is going to be hard to find a new credit card that has all three of these things, they are the key to consolidating a debt to a new credit card. The longer introductory period is going to help you pay off your debt faster because you won't be accumulating more interest during the introductory period and can actually make an impact on paying off your debts.

Use A Debt Consolidation Company

The other option is to use a debt consolidation company. What they do is pay off the debt to the credit card companies that you owe, bringing the balance owed to zero. The debt is now held by the debt consolidation company, so you only need to worry about paying one monthly bill to one creditor, which can help you easily manage your debt.

The benefit to using a debt consolidation company is that you can get a lower interest rate by bringing in debt from several credit cards to one company. You may also find yourself saving money by not paying additional fees associated with having a balance with a credit card. The goal is to bring the debts to one company and lower your interest rate so that you save money over time by paying it off.

Reach out to a company like Brian R. Cahn & Associates, LLC, that provides debt consolidation services.
